Overview
Simply Group is seeking an experienced and proactive Head of HR and Employee Relations to lead our human resources function in Santa Maria, Sal. This role is vital for driving the company’s HR strategy, fostering a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance with all legal and organizational requirements. The ideal candidate will excel in recruitment, training and development, payroll management, and employee relations, as well as implementing health and safety (H&S) policies and managing absenteeism and sickness.
Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy and Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with Simply Group’s goals.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on all HR matters.
Recruitment and Selection
- Develop recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
Training and Development
- Design and implement training programs to develop employee skills and career growth.
- Oversee the creation of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for all staff.
Payroll and Benefits Management
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including tax compliance.
- Manage employee benefits programs and address queries related to compensation.
Health and Safety (H&S) Compliance
- Develop, implement, and review H&S policies and procedures.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with local health and safety laws.
Sickness and Absenteeism Management
- Monitor and manage employee attendance, addressing absenteeism and sickness issues.
- Develop policies to support employees returning to work after extended absences.
Employee Relations
- Act as the point of contact for employee grievances and conflict resolution.
- Foster a positive work environment through engagement and inclusion initiatives.
Legal Compliance and Policies
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations in Cabo Verde.
- Maintain and update HR policies to reflect changes in legislation.
Business Support
- Provide HR support for organizational structure and workflow optimization.
- Collaborate with department heads to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
